At its July 14, 2026, public meeting, the East Manchester Township Board of Supervisors reviewed and discussed the Fire Services Study presented by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). The study, provided at no cost to the participating municipalities, evaluated the current delivery of fire protection services within East Manchester Township, Manchester Borough, and Mount Wolf Borough.
The presentation identifies current strengths and challenges, offers recommendations to improve the long-term sustainability of fire protection services, and outlines several potential paths forward for consideration. The Board also discussed the next steps, which include continued collaboration with the participating municipalities and fire departments to evaluate and implement appropriate recommendations.
