Regarding the truck issues at Zions View Rd and York St/Board Rd the Township has done the following. Approximately a month ago the Township Public Works Director had contacted PennDOT regarding the intersection where tractor trailers disregard the existing signage. The trailers have done damage to public and private property as well as create safety issues for the motoring public (there have been numerous close call vehicle accidents due to tractor trailers). Zions View Rd., Musser St., York St., and Board Rd are all state roads. Upon our request PennDOT’s Traffic Engineer has completed a plan for this area and is currently waiting for the creation of the new signage. The most recent update is that it should be completed soon. Additionally, the Township Public Works Director has been interacting with York County Regional Police Department since day one for enforcement. Otherwise, the Township has been very accommodating to the affected resident by installing barrels on the resident’s property (which have been removed due to being destroyed), placing a “No Right Turn” sign on Zions View Rd in the meantime, and being a listening ear daily as the Township is very understanding to the affected residents of the area. East Manchester Township thanks the public for their patience and understanding during this time.
Respectfully,
East Manchester Township
