There has been and will continue to be significant road improvements in the Locust Point/Canal Rd Ext/Zions View area. A permanent signal light will be placed at the intersections of Zions View Road, Locust Point Road and Canal Road. During construction, Zions View Road is to remain open as one lane with the temporary signal light. This project is permitted by PennDOT since they are state roads. This has been a long project with an anticipated completion of Summer 2023 due to Columbia Gas and Verizon utility companies preventing the contractor from performing the work as scheduled. Also, the extreme duration of delay is due to a period of de-mobilization as the contractor awaits the re-opening of the PennDOT extended-season paving window on March 1st. East Manchester Township is just as frustrated as the residents, businesses and users of the roads in question. As a result, the Township sent an expressive letter to the Public Utility Commission and copied all of the State Legislatures. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and will continue to cause.
Additionally, turn arounds are provided for the school buses both near the proposed pump station on Canal Road Ext. and before the bridge in Conewago Township.
